Chuck Meibeyer

Chuck Meibeyer brings extensive experience to his role as a real estate broker-associate with Coldwell Banker Brokers of the Valley ("CBBOV"). Chuck practiced law for 35 years in the Napa Valley and helped hundreds of clients buy or sell all forms of real estate, including residential, vineyards and wineries, and commercial property. In that work, Chuck advised clients on establishing, selling and purchasing wineries and vineyards, negotiated grape purchase contracts and vineyard lease agreements including extensive experience obtaining land use approvals for wineries, subdivisions, and commercial projects. Chuck also had extensive experience advising clients on tax-deferred exchanges and other real estate related tax matters.

Now that he has retired from the practice of law, Chuck has joined Napa's largest real estate firm because CBBOV's # 1 position in the real estate industry in the valley generates significant benefits to Chuck's real estate clients through access to off-market and hard to find properties, and a team of agents who assist in finding buyers for Chuck's listings.

Chuck handles all forms of real estate including residential, commercial, vineyard, winery and estate, and hotel and other hospitality properties in sales or lease transactions. In his work as a real estate broker Chuck brings his extensive experience in real estate transactions combined with his countless relationships with staff, commission members and elected officials with the County of Napa and the cities and towns in the valley, as well as representatives of the title and escrow industry, surveyors, engineers, architects, designers, vineyard managers, soils experts and environmental consultants who are essential in helping clients evaluate property for purchase, or for developing and operating their property, in a County with extensive regulation by local, state and federal agencies such as the Winery Definition Ordinance, Conservation Regulations and complex zoning restrictions in all jurisdictions.

Chuck is also a skilled negotiator through his prior work as an attorney, and his experience serving as a mediator in hundreds of disputes, principally in the real estate industry.

During law school at U.C. Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law, Chuck externed with California Supreme Court Justice Mathew O. Tobriner. After graduation, Chuck was an associate at Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco before joining Dickenson, Peatman & Fogarty in Napa where he was a partner before founding his own firm, the Meibeyer Law Group in 1989, and then was a partner with Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass LLP where he helped the firm open up its wine industry practice before Chuck retired from the practice of Law in 2018. He is excited to have transitioned to providing service to clients in selling, buying, or leasing their existing or hope-for new properties.
